About Us

Maarten started his career serving for the Australian Army. After leaving the army, he started his first business and now has over 25 years business ownership experience. In 2007, he launched Alliance Safety Equipment in Townsville with an initial focus on Gas Detection Systems. He quickly identified that customers needed tailored solutions to address complex safety needs and grew the business to become the specialist safety provider it is today.

In 2017, the business expanded to open a second branch in Mount Isa to address the demand for specialist and local safety solutions for the surrounding mining and industrial businesses of North West Queensland.

Alliance Safety Equipment is now identified as a leader in North and North West Queensland in the supply, hire and service in the safety industry. Over the years, Maarten has built an abundance of knowledge and expertise in technical safety and is regularly called upon for his knowledge in gas detection, height safety and rescue equipment.

Jono brings comprehensive management, leadership, sales, marketing and business ownership experience to the Alliance Safety team. Jono engages with customers across North Queensland and leads our team of staff in Townsville to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service to customers.  

Having owned his own franchises and having worked in a variety of senior management roles, he understands the need to build strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure success.  

Jono is a confident, dynamic and strategic leader who is focused on driving value for customers and building a team of highly capable staff.  

Marsha has over 20 years management and leadership experience having previously worked in senior government and not-for-profit sector roles and has been the recipient of multiple awards recognising her excellence in leadership.

Marsha commenced at Alliance Safety Equipment in early 2018 and brings with her professional skills in human resource management, IT, marketing, contract management, compliance and leadership.

Marsha is passionate about community and the role that Alliance Safety Equipment plays in supporting the communities in which the business serves.

With an extensive background in QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment) Bree joined the Alliance Safety Equipment team in 2018. Bree’s role involves travelling the North West region to engage directly with our customers to develop tailored to solutions to meet their safety needs.

Moving from a predominantly administrative role into a sales capacity has reignited Bree’s passion for health & safety and people. She enjoys the challenge of working collaboratively with customers to address complex problems and assist them to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Bree is a strong, professional woman who is also enthusiastic about the rural region of Mount Isa. Through her participation and work on the WIMARQ (Women in Mining and Resources Queensland) Committee, Bree supports, encourages, empowers and engages with other women working in the mining and resources industry.

An eagerness to learn and broaden her knowledge made Kaye a perfect candidate to join the team at Alliance Safety Equipment in 2018.

Kaye brought with her a raft of professional knowledge having extensive experience in compliance, finance and accounting roles in both Japan and Australia and is a CPA Qualified Accountant.

Kaye is a supportive, considerate and enthusiastic team member who believes in active learning, teaching and support to empower colleagues to achieve their goals.

Kaye is a sophisticated thinker who is consistently innovating new ways to refine, develop and grow the Alliance Safety Equipment business.

Coryn commenced at Alliance Safety Equipment initially in the Adminstrator role before progressing through to a sales role and now more recently having operations oversight of the two branches.

Coryn is passionate about customer service and implementing procedures and systems to ensure an efficient workplace. Coryn supports the administration and service teams, through to assisting the Director and Business Manager in day-to-day operations.

Coryn is proud of the relationships that she has established with customers and is committed to ensuring continued high-level services are delivered to customers of Alliance Safety Equipment.

Blake brings to Alliance Safety Equipment significant experience in the Retail/Customer Service sector having worked for both private and corporate companies.

Blake enjoys building strong customer relationships and working with customers to problem solve and achieve positive outcomes. Blake believes the safety industry is interesting, evolving and demanding and this makes Blake a perfect team player in the Alliance Safety Equipment team.

With experience working in gas detection and height safety at Alliance Safety Equipment since 2009, Graeme is our first and longest serving staff member and one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry.

Graeme draws on significant employment experience having previously worked in a manufacturing management position. Graeme has the ability to think strategically, laterally and is a very astute on the tools. He is definitely a go to person for all of your technical safety needs.

Graeme’s knowledge and experience make him an amazing resource to support the Alliance Safety Equipment team and customers.

Jake brings unique qualifications and experiences to Alliance Safety Equipment having worked in diverse roles across various industries. With extensive skills in everything from trades through to retail and information technology. Having worked in a range of practical positions, he is an enthusiastic and well equipped Service Technician.

With Jakes robust background in technical trades and strong commitment to safety, he is focussed on working with customers to provide solutions to meet their needs.

Scott brings a very diverse career history with him to Alliance Safety Equipment. He commenced his adventures by completing his Plumbing apprenticeship with Qld Rail and then completed over 20 years in local refineries and mines performing various roles during this time.

His most recent career change took him from Senior Brewer at the Townsville Brewery to the service workshop of Alliance Safety Equipment.

In Scott’s few years with Alliance Safety Equipment, he has developed his knowledge, skills and obtained his accreditations to become a highly qualified and experienced technician.

Scott’s attention to detail, his meticulous practices, pride in high-quality work and his can-do attitude, make him an exemplary technician and valued team member.

Caitlin is a highly experienced, RESP-FIT accredited safety industry Fit Test Technician. Having recently joined the Alliance Safety Equipment team, Caitlin brings with her significant administrative, warehouse, customer service and fit test technician skills having worked across a variety of companies and obtaining a multitude of qualifications along the way.

Caitlin has exceptional customer service skills and enjoys the process of delivering services to meet customers needs and to ensure they understand the important and essential nature of fit test requirements.

Tara has an extensive background and substantial experience in administrative and customer focused roles. In addition, Tara has been involved in the health and fitness industry giving her the knowledge and skills to provide high level fit testing to our customers in North Queensland.

With Tara's strong communication and organisation skills, combined with relevant industry experience, she is the perfect person to assist our customers to implement and maintain their fit testing process and regime.

Amanda is an allrounder who has worked in various industries during her career. Having both retail and adminstrative experience, Amanda is the perfect person to assist with your sales requirements.

Although relatively new to the North West region, Amanda loves the outdoor lifestyle and community that comes with Mount Isa. Amanda brings a professional approach, is a savvy learner and is keen to get involved and help out where possible.

Kim is our calm and collected Office Coordinator in Townsville. Alliance Safety Equipment was keen to welcome her to the company following her family’s relocation to Townsville in 2019.

Her enthusiastic personality and drive to deliver the highest level of customer service means you can always expect to be greeted by her with a smile and a laugh. Kim has extensive administrative skills across a range of industries and is a RESP-FIT Accredited Fit Tester who has proven herself to be adaptable, resilient, reliable and highly valued team member.

The multitasking queen, Kim has established positive relationships with customers and is a woman who knows how to get the job done.

Maddie is an energetic and enthusiastic team player. Having located to Mount Isa from the Sunshine Coast, she has quickly adapted to the warm outdoor lifestyle and adventures of being located in Western Queensland.

Maddie brings with her significant diversity in work experience and is particularly savvy with systems and processes.

Maddie is bubbly and bright and loves working with customers to ensure all of your safety needs are covered.
